Everyday, it's a-gettin' closer...!
The contract is signed.
I am ecstatic to announce that I am officially cast as Vi Petty in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story
at Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre in Virginia!
OH BOY!
This comes as a HUGE excitement for me!
Partly because I have always been fond of this woman and what her role has turned into with this show... and partly because in the fall of 2015, I had an appointment to be seen for the role of Vi Petty with another production of Buddy based out of NYC. I was flying back and forth from Illinois at the time, but I was determined to get back to the city for the appointment I had successfully booked. Unfortunately (--or, fortunately?) I semi-flopped the audition and was not able to perform nearly as well as I had been preparing. (Said every actor, ever.)
Fast-forward to being in the right place (New York) at the right time (... yup, now):
I saw a production seeking submissions and, in a few hours, managed to hunt down all of my former audition-prep footage specifically from the last go-around, and I whipped up a special demo reel just for these folks (which I currently have floating in my video gallery on the website, if you're interested).
What a wonderful feeling to finally be cast in one of my bucket-list roles, in a fantastic and entertaining tribute show to the great and early-departed Buddy Holly.
You can catch me being a goofball while playing piano and singing with this production between
March 9th and April 30th!
Wohlfahrt Haus also happens to be American-German dining, complete with a BIER GARTEN. Yeah. The German in this girl is pretty stoked to be performing here.
Stay tuned for more updates and info in the near future, friends. Thanks for all the support!
xoxo
