Actor, Singer, and Musician for Film, Stage, and Studio
Miranda began paving her performance path in rural Illinois. She was heavily involved in the fine arts with her community, middle school, and high school as a singer, actor, & musician. She became President of Band, Choir, Thespian Club, and Captain of the Speech Team. In 2006, Miranda was the recipient of the National Choral Award among many other music and acting awards.
Miranda majored in trumpet performance when she landed at Luther College and eventually returned to the Quad Cities to take acting courses. Here, she won the award for Outstanding Actress as Dottie in Christopher Morgan's play Going Underground (portraying an Irish senior citizen) and also recorded an original cast recording as the role of Mary for the musical: The Best Man of Flagport (written by Dan Haughey).
Continuing her education at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in 2013 at the New York City campus, she studied under various working professionals in the industry while learning to love the fast-paced rhythm of The Big Apple. Graduating with a certificate in Musical Theatre rounded out her academic career, rendering her an aficionado of performance varieties.
As an independent contractor, Miranda acts, sings, plays music, and contributes off-stage throughout the country for jazz cabarets, weddings, holiday events, children's theatres, and regional theatres. Additionally, she has been writing originals and hopes to eventually set aside the time to record.
When not rehearsing and hunting for gigs, Miranda and her partner Kyle make YouTube videos traveling, volunteering, and reviewing unique destinations around the world. They recently started a candle business, as well! (VanLite Candle Co.)
You can find Miranda currently enjoying winter in Ft. Myers, Florida, where she is portraying Vi Petty (acting/rock 'n' roll piano) and playing trumpet on stage for the musical BUDDY: The Buddy Holly Story.
